What is the Solid Surface material?

Solid Surface is the collective name for composite materials that are colored throughout. They are solid and homogeneous and can be used for demanding applications.

All Solid Surface products have aluminum trihydrate (ATH) as their base component. As a second component and binder, acrylic or polyester resins are used.

Aluminum hydroxide gives the material significant stiffness and also ensures that it is more heat-resistant than other plastics.

Acrylic and/or polyester provides flexibility that results in good workability and high impact resistance and strength.

The good properties of Solid Surface include:

• solid, pore-free, and homogeneous
• moisture and stain-resistant, repels most bacteria
• strong and durable
• low maintenance
• warm, timeless, beautiful, and robust like stone
• can be worked like wood
• thermoformable
• environmentally friendly and biologically responsible

Maintaining the Solid Surface material

For regular cleaning, you can use a natural cleaner, such as green soap or cleaning vinegar. If a scratch occurs in the material, you can use a sponge and Cif to 'polish' the material again. This can be done by making circular movements over the surface. Then rinse the cleaned surface thoroughly with lukewarm water and dry with a clean, soft cloth.

The majority of our orders are shipped with various carriers. Sometimes we use other carriers to deliver specific orders or to ease the load on the main carriers to meet our delivery promises.

The expected delivery time is always shown on the product page. Most products that we have in stock are shipped the same day. The evening before delivery, you will receive tracking information with a time window for the delivery. Important to know: the drivers of our chosen carriers deliver the products to the front door on the ground floor.

Also, for larger products such as granite sinks, large fragile sinks, cabinets, etc., you will receive a tracking code in the evening. These products are not delivered to the neighbors and a signature is required, so someone must be home to receive the product. Note: these large products are not delivered on Saturdays!

If the delivery of a large product fails on the first attempt, the carrier will contact you via email or SMS to send you a schedule so you can choose a time when you will be home.

Delivery surcharges of €30 to €100 apply for shipments to islands, due to additional logistical costs such as water transport and limited accessibility, and there are surcharges for pallet shipments for transporting fragile and heavier products.

Thermal shock:

To prevent the risk of thermal shock* caused by excessive temperature differences, we recommend preheating the product with lukewarm water during cold periods before turning the faucet fully to the hot setting. The water temperature should never exceed 60°C. *Thermal shock: Sudden temperature changes can cause high stress in the material, which may result in cracks and fractures in the product, especially on cold days.

Caring for Solid Surface Material
